According to the Federal Housing Finance Administration, Oklahoma ranks third in the nation for home price appreciation for the year ending June 30. Leading the race was the District of Columbia in first place and North Dakota coming in second.
The state's high ranking is a result of a number of economic factors including an enviable economy, re-energized oil and gas industry, strong home sales, and an overall increase in homeownership. The Oklahoman August 26,2011
